This project was created to provide basic stationary to the students and teachers at Nakuru West secondary school. Nakuru West is a large slum where most families struggle to afford basic needs let alone books and school supplies. GXA purchased stationery (books, pens, pencils, erasers, mathematical sets and office stationery) for over 800 students, plus office stationary for the teachers, amounting to enough supplies to last them the whole year.
The program aims to encourage children to not only pursue an education, but also to give back to their nation by instilling in the students a sense of duty to their communities. While the needs in the Nakuru West slum expand far beyond the need for school supplies, providing this sponsorship has helped inspire children and make them excited to stay in school.
