2008
After spending the first few years going to Kenya, we decided to visit Swaziland and a Johannesburg slum. Aside from being poor, 40% of the population here is HIV positive.
We built four homes for single mothers who were previously living in mud huts or shacks. Educating people on various illnesses and HIV was a large part of this trip. We focused our main efforts on providing medical care with a 2-day medical camp that allowed people to get health screenings – some for the first time in their lives.
